How to install the herringbone parquet flooring ?

1. Prepare the subfloor: Inspect the subfloor to ensure it is level, flat, clean, and dry. If necessary, use a self-leveling compound to make the subfloor level.

2. Lay out the pattern: Begin by laying out the pattern of the herringbone flooring. Measure the room, and then use a chalk line to create a grid of the herringbone design.

3. Install the parquet tiles: Start in the corner of the room and begin laying the parquet tiles. Make sure to lay the tiles in the same direction as the chalk line. Use a sharp level to check that the tiles are level.

4. Secure the tiles: Secure the parquet tiles to the subfloor using mastic adhesive and a notched trowel. Apply the adhesive to the back of the tiles as you go.

5. Fill the seams: Once all the tiles have been installed, use wood putty to fill in the seams between the tiles. You may also need to use a transition strip to fill the gap between the herringbone flooring and the wall.

6. Finish the floor: Once the seams are filled, you can use a sealer or finish to protect the herringbone flooring. Allow the sealer or finish to dry before walking on the floor.
